ROME, May 13 (Reuters) – The thought of eating beetles,  caterpillars and ants may give you the creeps, but the authors  of a U.N. report published on Monday said the health benefits of  consuming nutritious insects could help fight obesity.

  1. I know it sounds gross, but there are some parts of my country where locusts are roasted and sold as delicacy packed with proteins! As a kid I also ate some white looking beetles which were harvested from trees. It was cooked into a thick soup and was quite delicious at the time, even though now that I’m much grown I’m not sure if I can bear to eat it again! 😀

  2. I saw an article on TV tonight about exactly this. A man said he has eaten a bird-eating spider, & he said it was delicious. This new thinking is all too much for me to “consume”. Just… ugh, crunchy.
